Sharefam Privacy Policy

Use of the Sharefam.com is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is as follows:

    2. Sharefam is a Private Family Network (“Your Network”). This means that only the people in Your Network can see content provided by you and your individual profile. Your Network consists of anyone who joined your family network prior to when you were invited (assuming you were not the first), anyone you invite, anyone whom any individual in your network may invite, and so on. In the event that Sharefam has to resolve a complaint or customer service problem involving your account, Sharefam reserves the right for its employees to view Your Network or profile for this purpose.

  2. Only the people in Your Network can see your individual profile. Your name is in no way publicly searchable through Sharefam.com.

  3. Sharefam will collect email addresses for you and your relatives in the course of building Your Network. Sharefam will use your email address to complete the signup process, and will use your relatives' email addresses to invite them to join Your Network. Sharefam will not share users' email addresses with advertisers or third-parties. Sharefam will also send notifications and other newsletters and updates to users via their email address.

  4. Sharefam uses cookies for record keeping purposes. Cookies are small text files that are stored on users' hard drives. We will not use cookies to collect personal information unless permitted by the user. Sharefam uses both "session ID cookies" and "persistent cookies." Session ID cookies are used to store information while a user is logged into the site and expires when the user closes their browser. Persistent cookies are used to make tasks like logging into the site easier for returning users by remembering a user's login information. Persistent cookies stay on a user's hard drive for an extended period of time. Users may choose not to receive cookies from Sharefam by following instructions in the user's web browser "help" file; however, this may inhibit the user's ability to use Sharefam.

  5. Sharefam may also use third-party advertisers to send cookies and action tags on our behalf. These files are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements. Any information collected by these third-parties is anonymous.

  6. Sharefam will also collect users' IP addresses to help locate potential problems with our server, and to aggregate general user statistics including demographic and geographical information. We will use this information to provide advertisements and other services appropriate to the user's location. Sharefam will not provide user information to unrelated third parties unless requested by the user, reasonably necessary to offer the service, or required by law. Sharefam may aggregate user information in a non-personally identifiable manner to share with advertisers and to enhance our site with new features.

  7. Sharefam is not responsible for the Privacy Policies of Third Party Websites. Users are encouraged to review Privacy Policies of third party websites before submitting information.

  8. The following information governs users under 13 years of age:

    1. Information Collected - Sharefam collects the same information outlined above from all users and does not exceed the information necessary to provide the service. As stated above, all information gathered through cookies and not entered by the user will remain anonymous. All information on the site is for internal use according to this privacy policy and will never be sold to a third party.

    2. Procedures for Parental Approval - When a member adds a sibling or child to the site, the member must identify the invited member as over 13 years of age. If the member is a sibling and not 13 years of age, the member will not receive an invitation email until the parent logs into the site as the parent and acknowledges parental permission to become a member. If the member is a child, the adding member will be asked to give approval to invite the member to the Site.

    3. Parental Review - The parent or guardian of a user under the age of 13 has complete access to review all personal information shared with the Site through the user's profile page. This information is accessible when the parent is logged into the site.
